We accept students of all ages from the age of six (unfortunately students cannot be insured under this age), giving the people of Driffield and the surrounding villages the opportunity to learn a disciplined sport. Students benefit from increased self-esteem and helps give them greater confidence as well as the chance to make new friends through the training and social events. Of course some people just use karate as an enjoyable way of keeping fit.
The academy holds the East Riding of Yorkshire Councils ERCAS* Accreditation. (We previously held the Level 3 Gold Accredation under the previous scheme). Clubs who have achieved accreditation in line with ERCAS must demonstrate they have the following policies and procedures in place within their organisation:
- qualified coaches
- Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) disclosure checked coaches and volunteers
- first aid requirements
- health and safety procedures (including risk assessment)
- child protection policy and procedures
- skill and development progression
- appropriate insurance
- club constitution.
In achieving this status you can be assured of our commitment in our sport, our training and instruction.
Take a look at what we do and contact us for more information. We look forward to seeing you soon!
